waxing

Waxing is a semi-permanent way to remove hair by pulling it out from the roots.

There are two categories of wax techniques for hair removal. The most common is strip waxing, which uses a strip of fabric that’s pressed into hot, soft wax and then applied to your skin. When the strip is removed from your skin, it takes the wax and the underlying hair with it. This technique is ideal for tackling large areas such as the legs.

The other waxing technique is stripless, which uses a different type of wax that hardens quickly as it cools. When the esthetician uses this technique, no strip of fabric is needed, and the wax can be removed off directly.

The stripless waxing technique is typically used for sensitive areas or for those people with a lower pain threshold.

sugaring

It might sound like baking, but sugaring is actually a method of hair removal.

Similar to waxing, sugaring removes body hair by quickly pulling the hair from the root.

The name for this method comes from the paste itself, which consists of lemon, water, and sugar.

The ingredients are all heated together until it reaches a candy-like consistency. Once it cools it’s applied directly to the skin.

This mixture is much more natural and environmentally-friendly than wax, making it a desirable method of hair removal. Sugaring may sound similar to waxing, but there’s a key difference: the direction in which hair is pulled.

With waxing, the mixture is applied in the same direction as hair growth and then removed in the opposite direction of hair growth.

With sugaring, it’s the exact opposite. The cooled sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed in the direction of hair growth with quick, small yanks.

roll-On waxing

Roll-on wax is a waxing system that allows direct application to the skin through its single-use, recyclable, and portable wax cartridge. When heated in a roll-on wax warmer, the cartridge distributes soft wax to the application area directly, without the use of spatulas or a traditional warmer.

Roll-on wax is widely loved because of its innovative, easy-to-use design, as well as the upgraded hygienic experience it brings to a waxing service. This press/roll/remove system truly reinvents waxing as we know it!
